Hyundai Motor will reportedly build an electric vehicle assembly plant in Georgia

Hyundai Motor plans to announce a new electric vehicle assembly plant in southern Georgia next week.

The new plant is part of a $7.4 billion investment hyundai promised in the U.S. last year, the company said. Hyundai is expected to officially announce its decision on May 20, which coincides with U.S. President Joe Biden's visit to South Korea and comes four days before Georgia's gubernatorial primary. Hyundai previously announced it would spend $300 million to expand its Assembly plant in Alabama.
