Development and technical requirements of gear forgings




Gear forging processing technology makes a variety of processes. Earlier appeared in the end of the 19th century, after the development of the principle of tooth cutting, the use of this principle of tooth cutting machine tools and corresponding tools appeared, the process of production development, the stability of gear running has gradually been paid attention to.



Gear in the process of processing, its quality and the performance of the whole machine is related, such as carrying capacity and its make. There are some particularities in the use of gear, in addition to the commonly used dimensional accuracy, the appearance of the shape of the accuracy and surface quality of the requirements of its special requirements.



Every mechanical use of gear transmission is not the same, then in gear forging processing, there are four requirements for gear transmission:

(1) The transmission movement should be accurate



Gear as a transmission element, the first is to be able to accurately transfer motion. This requires that when the active wheel turns to a certain Angle, it accurately turns to a corresponding Angle on the moving wheel according to the relation of speed ratio, so as to ensure that the motion of the moving part and the active part is coordinated.



(2) the transmission needs smooth performance



In the process of transmission motion, especially in the process of high speed rotation, the instantaneous transmission ratio change of the gear transmission will be no difference. Mainly because of the sudden change of the instantaneous transmission ratio, it will cause a certain gear impact, resulting in noise and vibration, and even lead to the damage of the whole gear.



(3) Uniform load distribution



When the gear is transmitting power, the meshing surface of the gear should be coarse and in good contact, so as to avoid stress concentration, local wear of the tooth surface, and then affect the service life of the gear.



(4) Drive backlash



In the process of gear transmission, if there should be a certain gap between the non-working tooth surface, convenient for us to store lubricating oil, to compensate for the size change caused by temperature difference and elastic deformation, as well as errors during processing and installation. Otherwise, the gear will be stuck or even burned when working.
