How to heat treatment stainless steel forgings?

Stainless steel forgings after forging using waste heat directly heat treatment, the forging and heat treatment together closely, save a lot of energy consumption of common heat treatment need reheating. For example, stainless steel forgings are directly quenched by waste heat after forging. This kind of forging waste heat quenching is also called high temperature deformation heat treatment, which can make stainless steel forgings obtain good comprehensive mechanical properties.
Waste heat quenching refers to the quenching structure of stainless steel forgings obtained by fast cooling in the quenching medium after forging, instead of the original reheating quenching process. Forging waste heat annealing refers to the slow cooling of stainless steel forgings after forging to replace the original reheating annealing.
Forging waste heat normalizing refers to the air cooling of stainless steel forgings after forging to replace the original reheating normalizing. Waste heat isothermal normalizing of forging refers to the rapid cooling of stainless steel forgings to isothermal temperature after forging, instead of reheating isothermal normalizing.
Stainless steel forgings after forging directly into the homogenizing heat treatment furnace, still according to the conventional stainless steel forgings heat treatment process, stainless steel forgings homogenizing temperature, ensure that the stainless steel forgings in quenching, normalizing and isothermal normalizing temperature is consistent, this method is called waste heat homogenizing heat treatment. For the stainless steel forgings with complex shape, especially large section variation, the process can ensure the stability of the heat treatment quality of the stainless steel forgings.
The grain size of stainless steel forgings by forging waste heat quenching, forging waste heat homogenization quenching, forging waste heat normalizing and forging waste heat isothermal normalizing is larger than that by conventional heat treatment. In order to refine the grain, the stainless steel forgings can be cooled to 600℃~650℃, and then the stainless steel forgings heated to quenching (normalizing) required temperature quenching (normalizing), which can refine the grain, and reduce the energy consumption of the stainless steel forgings heated from room temperature to 600℃~650℃, generally used for stainless steel forgings with high grain size requirements.

On the basis of the reliable quality of raw materials, one of the tasks of forging is to obtain the required shape, size and surface state of stainless steel forgings to meet the requirements of parts processing and use conditions, and comply with the requirements of parts drawings.
