How does a forging plant reduce energy consumption




The energy consumption of forging plant in the process of forging is mainly fuel consumption. Most manufacturers use natural gas, which is the main energy consumption in forging plant production. Fuel consumption accounts for more than 80% of all energy consumption in forging plant. It is of great significance for forging plant to reduce the consumption of forging furnace. The commonly used measures are:
1. Use reasonable heat source:

Most manufacturers use natural gas, which is cheap, subsidised and less polluting for a long time.

2, the use of advanced heating furnace type

Digital regenerative high speed pulse combustion and control technology and continuous fuel regenerative pulse combustion and control technology are adopted in the gas heating furnace for blanks and forgings. In contrast, the combustion mode of conventional high-speed burner + air preheater is applied to the high temperature forging furnace, the energy saving rate is as high as 50%, and the furnace temperature uniformity is controlled between ±10℃. In the medium and low temperature heat treatment furnace, the energy saving rate is up to 30-50%, and the furnace temperature uniformity is controlled between ±5℃.

3, using hot material furnace loading process:

Hot charging furnace is an effective energy-saving measure for heating large forgings. The furnace heating in the forging workshop is generally controlled at more than 600℃. Compared with cold feeding furnace, can save 40-45% energy, at the same time can save heating time, reduce the number of heating configuration, improve production efficiency.

4. Waste heat recovery technology

The exhaust gas temperature in the fuel furnace is as high as 600-1200℃, and the heat taken away accounts for 30-70% of the total heat. The recovery and utilization of this part of heat is an important way to save energy in the forging workshop. At present, the main utilization method is to use preheater, that is, to use flue gas waste heat to heat the combustion air and gas fuel. As the country vigorously promotes energy conservation and emission reduction, the application of waste heat secondary recovery and utilization technology in forging industry will be more and more extensive.
